Did you know that the Cape has over 300 wine farms?

With so many brilliant options, it was a tough choice deciding which wine farms visit. In this article, I will review some of the wine estates visited. Stellenbosch is home to some of the most remarkable wine estates in South Africa and the world. Take a look at some of the jaw-dropping views and landscapes of these award-winning wines.

Delaire Graff Estate

High up on the valley pass between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek lies the famous Delaire Graff Estate. Undoubtedly one of the leading wineries in the Southern Hemisphere.

A tree-lined long driveway that sweeps up through the vineyards and 100-acres of landscaped gardens with beautiful sculptures along the road leading up to the exclusive luxury boutique hotel & spa managed by Relais & Châteaux. The perfect backdrop of mountains all around and beautiful landscape. Outstanding gourmet restaurants such as Delaire Graff Restaurant and Indochine, world-class art collection, state-of-the-art winery and award-winning wines!

Right in the heart of the Cape Winelands, Tokara has the potential to offer visitors a unique combination of award-winning wines, olive oils, brandy, a beautiful art gallery, and deli restaurant. Sadly, however, the experience was disappointing. Goes to show that you can have the most incredible establishment, but if the management and staff are not on the ball, it completely ruins everything.

We were often ignored and made to wait for a long time between each serving on our tasting list. The wines on offer were not great either, and for the same price, there are better wine tastings within the area. A real shame, given the beautiful setting and amazing views, but not that’s enough for me to visit again.
